Dave Bond, F.S.A., M.A.A.A.
Managing Partner


Dave has twenty-six years of experience in the commercial health insurance business.  He specializes in actuarial issues relating to Long-Term Care (LTC) and Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs).  Most recently, Dave directed the activities of the Long-Term Care Industry for Ernst & Young, LLP and previously worked for a major CCRC consultant.  In this capacity, he was responsible for financial valuation and pricing consulting for existing and proposed CCRC facilities.  Dave is currently directing our company's delivery of actuarial services to CCRCs nationally.  Dave is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  Dave is an appointed member of the Maryland Department of Aging's Continuing Care Advisory Committee.  

Dave's experience includes:

  • Development of CCRC demographic data collection and analysis models.
  • Development of actuarial population projection models for CCRC residents.
  •  Working with facility management and state regulators to obtain regulatory approval of CCRC financial structure.
  •  Development of LTC pricing model.
  •  Development of LTC and CCRC actuarial valuation models that analyze long-term solvency issues, as well as cash flow projections.
  •  Development of CCRC actuarial valuation models that analyze pricing issues, including equity among single and couple entrants into different types of units and those with different health conditions at entry.
  •  Assisting CCRC clients with various issues requiring actuarial opinions, including the projected nursing needs of CCRC residents.
  •  Participation in the SOA Long-Term Care Experience Committee and the American Academy of Actuaries Committee on Continuing Care Retirement Communities, membership in the SOA Group Financial Reporting Examination Committee, membership in the SOA Long Term Care Examination Committee, membership on the SOA Health Policy Examination Committee, membership on the SOA Managed Care Examination Committee, Editor of the SOA Health Section News Publication, health representative on the SOA 1997 Spring Meeting and membership in the AAHSA CCRC Solvency Task Force.
  •  Providing actuarial consulting services to over two hundred communities.
  •  Membership in the SOA Committee to refine valuation standards for CCRCs.

Brad has over sixteen years of experience in providing actuarial consulting services for the health care industry, with an emphasis in Continuing Care Retirement Communities and Long-Term Care.  Brad is currently pursuing his Associateship to the Society of Actuaries.  Brad serves on a volunteer basis on the Board of a local CCRC in Baltimore, Maryland.  Brad has spoken at the national AAHSA convention as well as regional state conventions.   • Development of a computer program that provides a demographic analysis from the data collection system.          
  • Development of actuarial population projection models for CCRC residents.        
  • Development of a computer program that assists CCRCs in evaluating the financial risk of prospective residents.        
  • Development of a computer program that assists CCRCs in complying with AICPA guidelines.        
  • Providing state agencies with assistance in evaluating feasibility submissions for new and expanding CCRCs.        
  • Testing the adequacy of entrance and monthly fees for new and existing CCRCs.
